It is August. Everything in nature is committed to pass on the accumulated wisdom of the year.

In these guided meditation sessions, inspired by the brilliant work of Jaap Voigt, it is my aim to help you connect more deeply to nature and its seasons. Fundamental to understand is that we are a part of nature and nature is a part of us. Therefore, the processes that are happening in nature are happening in you as well. By learning to observe your natural environment closely, you will better understand yourself. We too move with the seasons every year. These meditations will help you to understand what is happening in nature, and therefore in you.

These are 10 to 15 minute meditations, carefully crafted with love. Find a quiet spot and go on a journey into nature. Headphones are recommended. You can listen to the guided meditations on Soundcloud or download them directly from my public folder on Keybase. And for those who like to read what I have shared, I have included the transcript below.

Welcome to the guided nature meditation of August. In these sessions, it is my aim to help you connect more deeply to nature and its seasons. Fundamental to understand is that we are a part of nature and nature is a part of us. Therefore, the processes that are happening in nature are happening in you as well. By learning to observe your natural environment closely, you will better understand yourself. We too move with the seasons every year.

Today, I will guide you through a short meditation that will help you to understand what is happening in nature, and therefore in you, in the month of August.

Take a moment to find a comfortable seat. Close your eyes. Make sure your spine is straight, your neck is long, and your chest is lifted. Then relax your belly, your chest, your shoulders. Start by focusing your attention on the breath. See if you are holding onto unnecessary tension somewhere in the body. Use the breath to surrender to whatever is happening inside of you. Breathe evenly and deeply, using the exhale to release and surrender.

I would like to invite you to ask yourself: what is happening inside of my body in this moment? Observe only. Do not get carried away by thoughts, ideas, or concepts when you ask yourself this. Simply stay present, concentrating on the sensations in the body, returning back to the breath whenever you lose your focus.

It is August. Energetically, we are moving into the Autumn. Everything in nature is committed to pass on the accumulated wisdom of the year. The fruit is ready and is offered to us. You have worked hard to accomplish your tasks of this year. You have found direction and you have matured. The fruits of your labor are ripe. Now is the time to reflect on what you have accomplished and what lessons can be drawn from your experiences this year. Autumn is the time where you remove yourself as much as possible from your worldly affairs and create the silence needed to grow internally, to cultivate your wisdom. Because you take the time to know yourself and reflect on what you have learned, your best qualities will be known to you. What you no longer need you will allow to wither, making you strong and resilient, ready to face the Winter in a few months to come.

August is the time of consolidation. You will find that it is easy to have an overview of your external accomplishments. Making decisions is therefore simple, because you know what fits this version of you and what does not. Do not exhaust yourself with new ambitions, this is not the time for it. Allow things to flow as naturally as possible, observe and become like the nature around you, effortless, yet accomplished and perfectly on time.

Be together with your friends and loved ones. This is a time to celebrate the abundance in our lives. Light a campfire together and share your experiences, your wisdom and your light with each other. Share freely, but do not forget to listen and learn from your loved ones.

Create space to reflect in your schedule, do not get carried away by all the goodness and sweetness of everything around you. Be disciplined and do your inner work to maintain your clarity and discernment right now. It is easy to get sidetracked in this lush garden of Eden. Exercise regularly and be diligent about maintaining a good meditation practice. Keep the silence within, maintain your energy and what is good will come to you.

In other words, maintain your dignity. We are in a time where the ego is naturally strong and is mostly interested in proliferating itself. Celebrate everything that comes natural and stay away from relations that are less than pure. Stay pure, only committing to positive elements and situations in your life.

As we are approaching the end of this session, I would like to invite you to ask yourself: what have I accomplished this year and what can I learn from my experiences?

Stay connected to yourself and allow the answer to come from deep within. Do not engage with stories from your past or projections of your future, simply observe and allow the words to come to you.
