It is June. We are at the energetic pinnacle of the year. Everything is fully alive. You are fully alive.

In these guided meditation sessions, inspired by the brilliant work of Jaap Voigt, it is my aim to help you connect more deeply to nature and its seasons. Fundamental to understand is that we are a part of nature and nature is a part of us. Therefore, the processes that are happening in nature are happening in you as well. By learning to observe your natural environment closely, you will better understand yourself. We too move with the seasons every year. These meditations will help you to understand what is happening in nature, and therefore in you.

These are 10 to 15 minute meditations, carefully crafted with love. Find a quiet spot and go on a journey into nature. Headphones are recommended. You can listen to the guided meditations on Soundcloud or download them directly from my public folder on Keybase. And for those who like to read what I have shared, I have included the transcript below.

Welcome to the guided nature meditation of June. In these sessions, it is my aim to help you connect more deeply to nature and its seasons. Because you are an integral part of nature, this will help you connect more deeply to yourself. When we learn to observe our natural environment closely, we will better understand our inner world. The processes that are happening in nature are happening in you as well. We too move through the seasons every year. Today, I will guide you through a short meditation that will help you to understand what is happening in nature, and therefore in you, in the upcoming month of June.

Take a moment to find a comfortable seat. Close your eyes. Make sure your spine is straight, your neck is long, your chest is lifted, and your chin tucked in ever so slightly. Then relax your belly, your chest, your shoulders. Start by focusing your attention on the breath. See if you are holding onto unnecessary tension somewhere in the body. Use the breath to surrender to whatever is happening inside of you. Breathe evenly and deeply, filling your lungs with air, using the exhale to release and surrender.

I would like to invite you to ask yourself: what is going on inside of me in this moment? Investigate, but observe only. Do not engage with thoughts, ideas, or concepts when you ask yourself this question. Simply stay present, concentrating on the sensations in the body, returning back to the breath whenever you lose your focus.

It is June. We are at the energetic pinnacle of the year. Everything is fully alive. You are fully alive. Everything is full-grown, tall and proud. So are you. This may feel really good, but mind yourself. Do not push through your own limits. This is the time of violent thunderstorms that can rage through your inner world, easily snapping you in half if you have grown too fast. Be aware of presumptuous behavior in yourself. Do not assume you have full control over your life. Life is so much bigger than you. Life moves through you. Nature lives through you. So temper your excitement to go fast. Take it slow. Take time. This is how you deal with the peak of the year effectively.

In nature, many beings have already blossomed. They still exist in form, but have fulfilled their purpose. They are ready to die. Reflect on this: which relationships and situations have no more life in them? What is already in decay? Be honest and courageous. You might need to say goodbye to these things so you can clear your mind. You cannot hold onto everything. Everything had the chance to grow in Spring and early Summer, but some things have no more life in them. Allow this natural death to occur inside of you. This allows your creative energy to flow freely again.

When you have said goodbye, enjoy this newly found inspiration. Enjoy the freedom of mind it gives. Go outside, connect with others, but do not get lost in a labyrinth of intense emotions. Take your time, take it easy.

Do things you normally do not do, and you will experience powerful surges of creativity flowing through you. Follow your impulses, trust that your joy will show you the way. Feel how new seeds are planted inside your heart. Create space for them to grow, nurture them by letting go of the old, so that they will emerge later in the year. Do not rush ideas right now, take it slow and gather strength. Fully enjoy the careless nature of this time, allow yourself to explore and to seek, without already needing to find. Balance out your emotions wisely, and have the courage to stay in the unknown, to stay present.

As we are approaching the end of this session, I would like to invite you to ask yourself: what will I say goodbye to this month, to create space for new things to grow?

Stay connected to yourself and allow the answer to come from within. Do not engage with stories of the mind, simply observe the first thing that comes up.

Take a deep breath in and exhale, letting go of everything for just a little moment. Come back to the body, stretch out, then slowly open your eyes again, and come back to your world. Now, before you get on with your day, take a moment to write down your discoveries and also how you will hold yourself accountable if you make a commitment to yourself.

Thank you for listening, please tune in again next month, and for now be in nature as much as you can. Simply observe the natural world around you. If you look closely, you will find nature’s wisdom hidden in plain sight. Allow nature to become your teacher. Namaste.
