It is November. Energetically the Winter has started. The Winter is the night of the year where everything falls into a deep rest and we come to terms with the concept of death in our own lives.

In these guided meditation sessions, inspired by the brilliant work of Jaap Voigt, it is my aim to help you connect more deeply to nature and its seasons. Fundamental to understand is that we are a part of nature and nature is a part of us. Therefore, the processes that are happening in nature are happening in you as well. By learning to observe your natural environment closely, you will better understand yourself. We too move with the seasons every year. These meditations will help you to understand what is happening in nature, and therefore in you.

These are 10 to 15 minute meditations, carefully crafted with love. Find a quiet spot and go on a journey into nature. Headphones are recommended. You can listen to the guided meditations on Soundcloud or download them directly from my public folder on Keybase. And for those who like to read what I have shared, I have included the transcript below.

Welcome to the guided nature meditation of November. In these sessions, it is my aim to help you connect more deeply to nature and its seasons. We are a part of nature and nature is part of us. The processes that are happening in nature, are happening in you as well. By learning to observe your natural environment, you will better understand yourself. We move with the seasons every year.

Today, I will guide you through a short meditation that will help you understand what is happening in nature and therefore in you in this month of November.

Take a moment of silence for yourself and find a comfortable seat. Close your eyes. Make sure your spine is straight. Then relax your belly, your chest, your shoulders. Let go completely. Then focus your attention on the breath. Breathe into the areas that feel tense. Use the breath to surrender to what is happening inside of you. With every inhalation connect with the sky and grow a little taller. And with every exhalation sink deeper into the earth that supports you. Stay present, concentrating on the sensations in the body, and return back to the breath when you lose your focus.

It is November. Energetically the Winter has started. The Winter is the night of the year where everything falls into a deep rest and we come to terms with the concept of death in our own lives. At the same time there are powers of renewal and purification at play. New life is shrouded in the old. There is growth hidden in apparent rest and the power of new life is encapsulated in a seed.

This is therefore a time where we will experience outer rest, but inner growth. Naturally, our thoughts again will move again towards the spiritual. This is a good time to investigate the nature of your own consciousness. Through the Winter, our mind is purified from the old and we are left in our naked essence. You are called back in and invited to look at your relationship to the Unknown, to everything that you might have ignored. You will encounter your fears, dreams, wishes, desires, all that has been or might be. There will be less noise, there will be less outside distraction and there will be more silence within.

In November we start moving towards the darkest night of the year. And you will see that nature is starting to lose its cover. Nature is becoming transparent and so are you. At the same time we are invited to depart with what carries no more life in it. Whether we want to or not, we have to let go of our illusions. In secret, discreetly, you are renewing yourself, for the benefit of the future you and the future world. You will become complete in your essence. Ultimately, you will find inner stability and harmony. Structures and shapes that are only in form in your life, but no longer carry the spirit of life, will naturally die off. So let go and allow death to take its toll in your life. If you do not, you will carry your burden unnecessarily and miss an important moment of growth, where you come to terms with your essence and only the essence remains. The true fruit of your labor of this year, within carrying the seed of change, that might just germinate in Spring.

In this month of November act discreetly and be of service. In this time service is the greatest good. Be of service to what is good for you and what is good for the world. Being of service and all of the activities that come with it will help to complete yourself.

The Winter requires strength and clarity of mind. Because we have prepared well, we are strong. Winter is the time of dignity and insight. You have come to the latest stages of the cycle of life and therefore it will be easy to find stability and inner harmony in this time. By the grace of your dignity, everything that is not good in your life will be naturally repelled, because there is no way it can attach or hold onto you. This is the power of Winter and the source of your happiness in this time.

You will find that it is easy in this life to have trust. Trust in yourself, trust in others and trust in life. You can become soft, gentle, mild, friendly, without losing your inner strength and dignity. When the structures and shapes of things in our life are no longer there, it is often the illusions that we find the hardest to let go of. We often would have liked things to be different. We are invited to let go and allow death in our lives, because death is what makes life possible. In this process do not tempt yourself to fight. Surrender and be wise, accepting that this cycle has come to an end and that something new will emerge later in the year.

As we are approaching the end of this session, ask yourself: what is my relationship to death in my life? Stay connected and allow the answer to come from deep within. Simply observe and allow the words to come to you. Thank you for listening. As always let me know how these meditations land for you and please tune in again next month and of course be in nature as much as you can. If you look closely, you will find nature’s wisdom hidden in plain sight. Allow nature to become your teacher. Namaste.
